Location: Kolkata, India
Area: 61,000 sq. ft. approx.
Basement + Ground + Three (B+G+3) multi-family housing situated in a prime location in Kolkata, India.
The project was envisaged as a small close-knit neighborhood, where each individual unit was designed as a duplex bungalow. The building was planned as one continuous block that ran along the site periphery enclosing an open courtyard centrally-in order to create a controlled inner space, protected and integrated into the urban fabric.
The façade delineation is an attempt to distance one from the typical compact, repetitive and solid image of residential housing and have opt for a design where emphasis is on features that accentuate the sensation of belonginess.
The low rise neighborhood can truly be termed as “Bungalows of Air, Green and Sky”.
