An outdoor canteen for a school demanded to be uncomplicated, humble, grounded, and yet elegant – qualities that we all strive for.
The cubical volume of the building has a strong silhouette which is marked by the subtle textures of the exposed blanched bricks and the skylight. The light weight permeable structure of brick and glass gives way to the light and air and the punctured sloped roof incorporates the existing tree at site. The interior layout is minimal, cost-efficient and best suited to its use. The structure strives to blend in with the nature and its surroundings yet create a statement with its simplicity and effortless design
